[4146A] System Administrator (Standing Naval Forces)

• Assists Core Section Head with the development of technical solutions for all maritime afloat tasking, development of troubleshooting SOPs, and technical refresh/upgrade of all system hardware;
• Assisting with the planning and coordination of ship surveys prior to scheduled CIS installation;
• Assist with the System Administration (SA) of HW and SW of assigned systems;
• Ensures all technical and service oriented documentation pertaining to assigned systems, interconnections, supporting cable plant etc. is prepared, properly stored and kept up-to-date;
• Ensures Configuration Control data is reported to Core Section Head in a timely manner;
• Involved in providing remote support of Flagship handovers for those nations involved in the Standing Naval Forces (SNF''s).
• Maintains a close liaison with other technicians and engineers within the CSU and the wider NCI Agency.

Requirements

• Knowledge and experience in VMware Virtualisation technology.
• Knowledge of SAN technology.
• Knowledge and experience in Windows workstation imaging techniques.
• Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Server Technologies; Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange.
• Knowledge and experience in Application Server technologies
• Knowledge of ITIL IT service management model;
• Knowledge of Incident and Problem Management processes and experience in this area;
• Ability to write technical documentation and user guides;
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
