Nasio Trust 2020 As a trustee of this amazing charity, which primarily works in a remote part of Western Kenya, I [Neil] am privileged to pass on recent news. We support the work as we have first-hand experience of the “world changing” work that is being done and we’ve realised there are many synergies with GardPass’ work and aims.

Esther - first Nasio-supported girl to go on to higher education

Last week, Nasio received the wonderful news that one of the supported HIV orphans, Esther, has graduated secondary education with the grades she needs to pursue a medical qualification at university. Education is the single most powerful weapon we have in the fight to break the cycle of poverty.

Scope of Community Clinic work expanded

Only last Friday, approval was received from the Kenyan Government for the newly built clinic to treat in-patients on behalf of the state (the application was lodged in 2016). This means that poor people can access healthcare in the rural community and not have to risk their lives travelling for miles to see a doctor when they have serious health conditions.

Neil will be looking into how the clinic can now be extended physically and more badly-needed medical equipment provided.
